Presented below is the summary of cases of diseases/conditions reported to the Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living, during the reporting period considered in this report.
Number of cases are presented for each health region and for the entire province. It is also offered a comparison between the total number of cases reported year-to-date (YTD) in the province and two other time periods, i.e. 1) the same time frame during last year, and 2) the average over the same time frame over the previous 5 years (avg. prev. 5 years).
A red arrow pointing up () is used to indicate that there has been an increase in the number of cases in the current year (year-to-data) when compared to another time frame. For example, a red arrow up is used if there were fewer cases of a disease last year in the same time period (i.e. previous year-to-date) than there are cases in the current year-to-date. Similarly, a green arrow pointing down () is used when there were fewer cases of a specific disease in a previous time period than there are now in the current year-to-date. A black equal sign () is used to reflect that there was no difference between the current year and a previous time frame. The absolute value for the percentage increase/decrease is also displayed along with the symbols mentioned above (, , and ).
Technical notes regarding how cases are counted, i.e. operational surveillance case definitions, are provided in individual pages for each disease/condition.

Technical Notes
This analysis excludes cases where address at time of case and health organization reflect that the client is from out-of-province, i.e. not a Manitoba case.
Cases without a fixed address or where the address at time of case is unknown are grouped in the "Other" category.
