The Public Health Act
Manitoba's Public Health Act came into effect on April 1, 2009. The Act provides a legislative framework that helps the province anticipate and respond to public health emergencies and creates a framework for the other provincial public health functions, such as health surveillance, disease and injury prevention, and population health assessments.
